results in acceleration testing of the '02 Q. One had even failed to turn of the VDC during testing, which I can assure you will result in less-than-ideal times. I don't have my dyno sheets in front of me, but the numbers were not entirely valid in that the bonehead dyno operator dyno'd in third gear, and I would certainly submit that (as the SDS writeup suggests) drivetrain losses are greater than they would be in 4th (1:1 final drive ratio), but I will dyno again now that I have about 10k miles on the car and will be taking it to a dyno facility that might actually listen to me. Based on the numbers I have seen from various LS, SC and GS cars, the losses experienced with these particular vehicles have been in the 22% range. This high loss seems to be primarily associated with the 'soft' torque converter in these cars, and perhaps that the various electronics (tracion control, electronic braking distribution, etc.) systems may come into play, even if the switch is turned off on the dash. I will certainly be running both my Q and my G35 this winter to see what comes out, but I expect that the Q will certainly do better in 4th gear than the ~250s it did in 3rd gear. I would expect in the neighborhood of the mid 260s or so.
